Buffalo Soldiers: In 1989, the peacetime U.S. Army stationed in Germany is largely manned by men who had an option of penitentiary or time in the service. One of them (Phoenix) is a salesperson who wheels and deals, Bilko-like, under the nose of his naive commander (Harris) till a new top sergeant shows up (Glenn) who's decided to clean things up. Cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Ed Harris, Scott Glenn, Anna Paquin, Elizabeth McGovern, Michael Pena, Leon Robinson, Gabriel Mann, and Dean Stockwell. (98 minutes, 2003)
Wanted: A young office worker is torn from his boring life and thrown into a very different world. He is offered to follow in his father's footsteps, and join a secret league of assassins. He is then trained to kill, and carry out the assignments that are handed down.
General Ella Rovere: De Sica is bright as a con guy forced by the Nazis to imitate a just departed Italian military leader and find the identity of an Opposition leader. Can this farce someway transform a coward into a man of courage? Cast includes De Sica, Hannes Messemer, and Sandra Milo (129 minutes, 1959)
Murder on Monday: Graceful all-megastar production of Agatha Christie's whodunit set in the 1930s, with unrecognizable Finney as terrific-sleuth Hercule Poirot, and all his suspects on the identical railroad train. Vibrant amusement, although severely slothful; acute watchers can be eager to guess the denouement, also. Bergman triumphed as Best Aiding Actress Oscar. Cast includes Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam, Ingrid Bergman, Jacqueline Bisset, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, and Wendy Hiller. (128 minutes, 1974)
Casino Royale: This is an old school James Bond adventure. The humor is gone, and a tough and gritty 007 is trying to take down Le Chiffre, the banker for terrorists. Bond must defeat Le Chiffre in a huge money poker tournament to help the C.I.A. capture him.
For Singles Only: Absolutely not for those who like excellent films. 2 gals move into desperado's condo where Berle is communal commando. The outcome is a rape, and then an effort at suicide, and few melodies. Cast includes John Saxon, Mary Ann Mobley, Milton Berle, Lana Wood, Mark Richman, Chris Noel, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. (91 minutes, 1968)
Mrs. Heuderson Presents: Lately widowed Dench plans to affirm her newfound liberty by purchasing a London show, The Windmill, and striking on the notion of orchestrating nude tableaux. With the approaching of WW2, the show gets to be a refuge for cadets and battle-tired Londoners. Cast includes Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, Can Youthful, Christopher Visitor, Kelly Reilly, Thelma Barlow, Anna Brewster, and Rosalind Halstead. (103 minutes, 2005)
Batman Returns: The Penguin teams up with a crooked businessman, Max Schreck, to try and take over Gotham City. The Penguin is trying to defame Batman. Meanwhile Catwoman arrives on the scene. Batman must clear his name, deal with the Penguin, and try to figure out what Catwoman is all about.
Cliffhanger: In a complex heist, a group of thieves hijack a $100 million delivery flight. Attempting to switch planes to escape, they crash in the mountains. They radio for help, and when it comes they force the rescuers to help them recover the lost cash.
