Dirty Blue Widgets

By Jack Smith
An online academy called the Affiliate Academy is doing a SEO competition for it's students. There are two groups of students. There are the beginners and the advanced class. The contest will give all the participants a chance to use their new SEO methods in a real life scenario. Each group has a different target term they are competing to rank for. The novices will try and rank for Clean Red Widgets while the Advanced students will be competing for the term Dirty Blue Widgets. These are both nonsensical terms to avoid outside competition. This allows all the students to compete against each other in stead of the rest of the WWW and thus gives them an equal opportunity to win. The contest is going on from 11/10/08 through 2/10/09. The site ranked highest in Google's search engine at the end of that 90 day period will be named the winner. But there are a few rules. There are no black hat techniques allowed. No one may purchase links to there site. The domain name competing in the contest must not contain any of the words from the target term. And no automated tools are allowed except ones that submit to bookmarking and article directories. The prize for the first place winner is $1000 for the beginner contest and $1500 for the advanced contest.
